AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS' ERRORS IN WRITTING NARRATIVE TEXT AT SEKOLAH TALITAKUM

ABSTRAK

This thesis is aimed to describe the finding of the typical errors on students’ errors in 

writing narrative text by using simple past tense at grade IX of SMP Swasta Talitakum 

Medan in academic year 2019/2020. The researchers used a descriptive qualitative method. 

Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the errors of misinformation are the 

most frequent errors done by the ninth grade students at SMP Swasta Talitakum Medan 

committed 233 errors in regular verb. It was consists 150 errors in misinformation, 38

addition, 29 omission and 16 misordering. Then errors in regular verb done by the students is 

36 misordering, 38 omission, 56 addition and 156 misinformation. The students’ errors are 

Misinformation, Addition, Omission and Misordering.
