ABSTRAK

The purpose of this research is to examine and determine the effect of self-concept and emotion regulation on assertivity. The research sample consisted of 198 students of Prima Indonesia University with the proportionate stratified random sampling. The research data were collected using an assertivity scale consisting of 25 items, a self-concept scale consisting of 24 items and an emotion regulation scale consisting of 23 items. The results showed that there was an influence between self- concept and emotion regulation on assertivity with a test value of F = 45,153 and sig.= 0,000. The results showed there was a positive influence between self-concept on assertivity with a beta coefficient of 0.446 and sig. 0.000 (p <0.05), and there is a positive influence between emotion regulation on assertivity with a beta coefficient of 0.196 and sig. 0.004 (p <0.05). The assumption test consists of normality test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test and heteroscedasticity test. Data were analyzed using Multiple Linear Regression correlation or multiple linear regression analysis through the help of SPSS Statistics 25 for Windows. The results showed that the effective contribution of self-concept and emotion regulation to assertivity was 31 percent, the remaining 69 percent was effected by other factors not examined.
