ABSTRAK

In realizing individual health rights, health services are required to place resources and organizations. Clinical pathway (CP) is a disease management tool used to reduce unnecessary variations in services, increasing clinical outcomes and controlling resources. Acute appendicitis is one causes of acute abdominal pain, where cases of appendix perforation range from 20-30% increasing to 32-72% at the age of more than 60. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study on the implementation of CP in Royal Prima Medan Hospital. This research conducted using mix method with case study design. Qualitative data were taken by interview and observation. Quantitative data taken with simple descriptive from the acute appendicitis CP documentation in medical records and ICPAT (January - September 2020, n = 117). From the conducted research, the level of completeness for CP was 100% and form filling was 85%. ICPAT dimension 1 that makes sure that the form is clinical pathway. The content and quality is good, dimension 2 that assess the CP documentation process. The content is lack and quality is moderate, dimension 3 that assess the CP development process which content is good, and quality is moderate, dimension 4 for assesses the CP implementation process. The content is moderate, and quality is good. Dimension 5 is to assess the maintenance of clinical pathway which content is lack and quality is moderate. Dimension 6 serves to assess the role of the organization that content is good and quality is moderate where the obstacles are due to lack of understanding and time constraints.
