ABSTRAK

One of the efforts in lowering the Infant Mortality Rate is to provide exclusive breast milk. The provision of special breastfeeding facilities is very useful for women to continue to provide breast milk. In Indonesia, only 1 in 2 infants under the age of 6 months get exclusive breast milk, and more than 5% of children still get breast milk at the age of 23 months. Based on the health office of Medan City, in 41 puskesmas, coverage of nursing mothers is still low, which is 34% of 4329 nursing mothers with a target of two-year-old babies as many as 110.938 people. The purpose of the study to analyze factors that affect the utilization of breast milk corner space by employees in all puskesmas medan in 2020. Research design is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. Population and samples in this study as many as 78 puskesmas employees who breastfeed babies under 2 years in the working area of Medan city in 2020. The data is analyzed univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. The results of the multivariate analysis showed there was an influence on knowledge (p=0,001;OR=19.477), attitude (p=0,054; OR 5,934), maternal action (p=0,002; OR 6,324) and health care support (p=0,002; OR 9,705) on the utilization of breast milk corner in employees in all puskesmas medan year 2020. The conclusion of this study is the influence of knowledge, attitudes, actions of mothers and support of health workers to the utilization of breast milk corner in employees in all puskesmas medan year 2020. Advice in this study so that health workers can carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the regulation with the minister on improving breastfeeding during working time in the workplace.
